⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I love that the bar is sturdy and has some weight to it. The pieces fit together seamlessly. The cushion on the bar is well-positioned. I was able to attach my current resistance bands to the bar without issue. No complaints. This bar will take my workouts to the next level.
This really is general-purpose athletic equipment; what’s great is that it also includes a bar, which is excellent for squatting and a game changer for bicep workouts.
2 – Fast jumping rope
Jumping ropes is a great cardio exercise you can do at home, the gym, or anywhere outdoors; making it a great inclusion in this list of general-purpose athletic equipment.
The main difference between a fast jumping rope and a regular one is that it’s designed to be fast.
You’ll be able to train harder, increase those cardio levels and tone your muscles.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The rope is made from plastic-sheathed steel rope rather than solid plastic like the cheap ones. The rope is smaller in diameter and heavier (in a good way) and doesn’t kink like my old $5 jump rope did. This jump rope is pretty sturdy; I feel like I could toss it on the ground without fear of it breaking. Overall I’m very pleased.
With this rope, doing double jumps is easier. In addition, once you become a jumping rope expert, you’ll burn up to 300 calories every 15 minutes. Isn’t that crazy?
3 – Weighted jumping rope
We continue adding jumping ropes to our list of general-purpose athletic equipment because they’re a great piece of equipment to stay in shape.
Benefits of using a weighted jumping rope
- Increases upper body strength
- Improves upper and lower buddy balance coordination
- Strengthens arms, forearm, wrists, and grip
- It Burns more calories than a speed rope
The feecco 1/2 lb weighted jump rope is excellent for anyone doing boxing, cardio, and CrossFit workouts.
✔ Adjustable rope length
✔ Professional ball beatings inside the handles
✔ It comes with a bag for storage and travel
4 – Cordless Jump rope
Surprise, another jumping rope making it to the list of general-purpose athletic equipment; this one is a bit different, though.
This one is cordless; the main benefit of this kind of rope is that you can use it indoors in tight spaces.
You can use it in hotel rooms.
Trying to jump rope indoors requires space; hitting furniture is a constant problem.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Here’s the truth: I hate jumping rope; I’m no longer a child, and things that have no business moving flop around while I’m trying to fit in some cardio. This jump rope is easily the best I’ve ever used. It moves smoothly, is easy to pack in a gym bag without it getting tangled, and is very durable.
This one is number 11 on Amazon’s Jump ropes best sellers list.
5 – Gym bag
Now, this is an obvious one but still worth mentioning. Your gym bag.
You need a quality gym bag to carry all your equipment, clothes, and protein around.
✔ Part duffle bag and part backpack
✔ Shoe compartment
✔ The average capacity is 50lb
✔ Acceptable as carry-on luggage on airlines
✔ Water-resistant
Do not forget to take sweaty clothes out of your gym bag.
6 – Running armband for phone
This is another general-purpose athletic equipment you should own if you want to live a healthier lifestyle.
Whether we like it or not, phones are an integral part of our lives; if you’re going for a run, you’ll need to bring your phone, or you might get bored and give up.
- Listen to podcasts
- Listen to music
- Get on a phonecall
Those are 3 things you can do while running.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I purchased two phone armbands from this company a couple years ago (1 for my husband and 1 for me). We walk and hike a lot, and I like not worrying about my phone falling out of my back pocket. They were great, except it was a pain having to remove the whole armband off my arm to take a picture (which happened a lot when we were traveling & doing our day hikes). After so much frustration, I looked online for other options and saw these FROM THE SAME COMPANY AS MY 1st PURCHASE! Ordered 1 for me, and what an excellent feature.
This armband phone holder is a #1 bestseller on amazon.
✔ 360 degrees rotation
✔ Detachable
✔ perfect for I-phones and Samsung galaxy series
✔ Includes airpod pro holder
✔ Fits all 4 to 6.7-inch smartphones
7 – Running belt for smartphones
This is another piece of equipment you should add to your arsenal; carrying your smartphone around your arm might not be comfortable.
That’s not an excuse to not go out and get a nice sweat.
A running belt is comfortable and big enough to carry more than just your phone.
You can carry your keys, credit card, some cash, and tissues. You know the basics.
✔ This running belt is s adjustable
✔ Touch screen friendly
✔ Water & sweat resistant
✔ Earphone hole and key holder
✔ Zipper pocket with clean window view
8 – Yoga mat for men and women
A yoga mat is another healthy life equipment you should own; you could hurt your back, knees, or elbows if you try stretching on the floor.
And guess what? Stretching is essential both before and after a good workout.
The key to getting a great yoga mat is ensuring excellent cushioning and resilience.
This one is
✔ extra long and wide
✔ big enough for taller yogis
✔ water resistant
✔ tear-resistant
✔ easy to roll
9 – Vinyl dumbbells/weights
Believe me, this is worth the investment; you can do many kinds of workouts with just a pair of dumbbells.
- Biceps
- Legs
- Shoulders
- Triceps
You can find 15 to 30-minute full-body workout routines on YouTube that only require you to have a pair of dumbbells and a yoga mat.
You’ll be sweating like crazy.
Vinyl dumbbells are great if you don’t have too much space at home and plan to work out in your living room. The vinyl covering will make sure you don’t ruin your floor.
Although, I do recommend you get a pair of dumbbell mats.
✔ 8 pounds
✔ Neoprene covering
✔ Hexagonal shape so you can use them for push up
✔ Non-slip grip
10 – Gym water bottle
The final item on this list is probably the most basic one.
A water bottle.
You might think there’s not much to think about here; well, yes and no.
Make sure your gym bottle is
✔ Big enough
✔ Leakproof
✔ Has a loop handle
✔ Has a wide mouth
✔ BPA free
✔ Has a mixing system for your pre-workout or after-shake.
There’s nothing more satisfying than drinking a nice protein shake right after a great workout.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I bought it, figuring what the hell? It’s a shaker and can’t be any worse than any other. It’s way better than the others. The little whisk ball works perfectly. Add water, milk, and protein, and shake for a few seconds. Mixes great with minimum effort. If you don’t want to stir a spoon for protein shakes, buy this and stop stirring.
